Shigeru Miyamoto created Mario while developing Donkey Kong in an attempt to produce a best-selling video game for Nintendo; previous games, such as Sheriff, had not achieved the success of games such as Namco’s Pac-Man. Originally, Miyamoto wanted to create a game that used the characters Popeye, Bluto, and Olive Oyl. At the time, however, Miyamoto was unable to acquire a license to use the characters (and would not until 1982 with Popeye), so he ended up making an unnamed player character, Donkey Kong, and Lady (later known as Pauline). In the early stages of Donkey Kong, Mario was unable to jump, and the focus was to escape a maze. However, Miyamoto enabled Mario to jump, saying “If you had a barrel rolling towards you, what would you do?”
Hee Hawww! Yahoo! Giddy Up! What kid hasn't imagined themselves King (or Queen) of the rodeo? Can't you picture it? A western landscape...hot and dusty...sunny and smokey. And who arises from this scene? None other than the fastest-firing-gunslinger in all the west! This kid epitomizes what a cowboy should be. Decked out like the cowboys of cowboys in a: vest and tie, cowboy boots, rodeo jeans covered by chaps, gun and holster, with the coolest cowboy hat to complete the look. Now that's a cowboy! And that's just what your kids are imagining...that they are REAL cowboys and cowgirls! When I was a young lad not a lot older than my son is now, I began using coloring sheets as an activity I could do with my father. I really enjoyed working on them but I also enjoyed the one on one time with my father and having something we could do together. So you can imagine how keen I am to continue this tradition and now begin having fun with my boy and some coloring pages. Coloring pages are also a fantastic way to engage the busy hands and minds of your fidgety kids on vacation trips in the car or by plane. You don't need to scratch your head over the children's entertainment during the rainy days or how to distract them at the doctor's waiting rooms. A preschool coloring book makes part of these activities and helps parents, teachers and educators make as easy as possible for children to explore the world surrounding them.It contains very beautiful and funny pictures containing simple drawings, pictures from a story or from nature, or simple abstract ones that are just waiting to be discovered and coloured. The materials used in the coloring activity may be crayons, coloured pencils, marker pens and other type of paint. The thing is that a colouring book is educational, entertaining and fun.
